About This Trip

Two Historic Pillars of the
Global Black Diaspora

If you KNOW ADA, you know we could not let this moment pass us. Departing Thursday night, September 24th on an overnight red-eye, ADA invites you to touch down in Rio on Friday morning for an exclusive, curated Diaspora Reunion.

As the Baltimore Ravens make history playing the Dallas Cowboys in Brazil, this experience serves as a true cultural bridge. Baltimore and Rio de Janeiro share a profound historical parallel: both stand as foundational sanctuaries holding some of the largest free Black populations in their nations' histories.

From the shores of the Chesapeake to the hills of Rio, our survival, our resistance, and our joy have always mirrored one another.

Designed exclusively for Black folks who want to connect with the Afro-Brazilian community, this boutique experience pairs luxury on the iconic sands of Copacabana with deep connection to Afro-Brazilian community leaders — ensuring a localized economic impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Game Tickets & Logistics
Are game tickets included in the package price?+

No. To accommodate the diverse seating preferences of our travelers, game entry tickets to the Ravens vs. Cowboys matchup are not included. You must purchase your stadium tickets independently — and we're glad to help you source them.

Is transportation to Maracana Stadium provided?+

Yes! Regardless of your ticket tier, luxury group transportation to and from the stadium is fully covered, along with our private pre-game Churrasco tailgate experience.

Flights & Rooming
What's the difference between the Flight Packages and Land Only?+

Flight packages include round-trip airfare departing Baltimore (BWI) the evening of Thursday, September 24th, arriving in Rio Friday morning. With the Land Only package you arrange your own flights to match the group's Friday arrival, but still receive hotel lodging and the entire shared itinerary.

Can I pick my roommate for the Double Occupancy package?+

Absolutely. During registration on WeTravel you'll be prompted to enter your preferred roommate. Traveling solo but want the Double rate? Let us know and we'll do our best to pair you with another solo traveler in the ADA network.

Travel Requirements & Local Life
Do I need a visa to travel to Brazil?+

Yes. The Brazilian government requires U.S. citizens to obtain an electronic visa (eVisa) before entering. While the application fee isn't built into the package, ADA hosts an exclusive, step-by-step visa support workshop for all registered travelers — walking you through the official portal, document uploads, and requirements flawlessly.

Is Rio de Janeiro safe?+

Like any major global city, awareness is key. Copacabana is heavily policed and highly walkable. ADA uses private, air-conditioned, security-screened transport for all group movements and partners with local organizations who know the community intimately to keep our events exceptionally safe and seamless.

Payments & Commitments
Can I pay with PayPal or Klarna?+

Yes. If you'd prefer an alternative payment method, you can purchase directly from our website store at theafricandiasporaalliance.org.

What is your refund policy?+

Because flights, hotel room blocks, and local Afro-Brazilian cultural partners are secured well in advance to maintain this boutique experience, deposits and package installments are non-refundable. We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance immediately after booking.
