Custom graphic designed by Nel Sparkman that was included in our Spring Diaspora Solidarity Box. Poster includes image of “Carlota Lukimi” who in 1844 led a revolt in Matanzas, Cuba. The words “Diaspora Strong” are printed on the poster highlighting the fearless resistance movements led by our ancestors throughout the African Diaspora as a reminder of our united fight against racism globally. This poster evokes diaspora solidarity and is a homage to the warrior women like Carlota that are seldom mentioned in history class.
